Team Members

All members of the Vultures Row T-6/SNJ Formation Team are FAST rated and have 100’s of hours in this type of aircraft. Many are veteran pilots and some are even Reno Air Racers in the T-6. All are passionate about aviation and the accurate preservation of these historical aircraft. The team was founded by Jim Booth, Bob Lessman and Chuck Wahl, owner of Vultures Row Aviation, a full NAVY historical aircraft restoration facility out of Cameron Park, CA. Other team pilots include Jeff Quaid, Jim Eberhart and Ken Dwelle.

Current Aircraft

The team use the same two-seat single-engined advanced training aircraft used to train pilots of the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF), United States Navy, Royal Air Force and other air forces of the British Commonwealth during World War II and into the 1970s. Designed by North American Aviation, the T-6 Texan is known by a variety of designations depending on the model and operating air force. The United States Army Air Corps (USAAC) and USAAF designated it as the AT-6, the United States Navy the SNJ. One of the aircraft in the team is a rare US Navy SNJ-5C, a US NAVY modified carrier version of the Texan. This aircraft has won numerous awards including Oshkosh postWWII Grand Champion Warbird and National Aviation Heritage Invitational Grand Champion.

The North American T-6 Texan was known as "the pilot maker" because of its important role in preparing pilots for combat.
